Toya: It is time. Time, in every sense of the word, for you. For me, for all of us. Time to change things. Time to bring innovation into life. Well then, let me begin. In the seventies of your last century, some scientists did an experiment that has become very famous. This experiment has become known as the Milgram experiment. Some of you may not be familiar with the name, but you will know the basics of the experiment. This experiment went as follows: First of all, the experimenters searched the surrounding area through magazines and at universities for people who were willing to be subjects and take part in this experiment. The statement and the request, the information that was given out about this experiment was that they wanted to test to what extent punishment has an effect on learning outcomes. In other words, they wanted to find out whether people learn better when they are punished for making mistakes. Several thousand different people responded to this experiment, for different reasons. Some were simply interested in how it would turn out, but most, by far, did it because they simply needed money. And because as participants in the experiment they were simply, at least to some extent, well paid. Well, this experiment then actually took place. Many had signed up and everything worked exactly as it should.
